Position Objective
Under the guidance of the Senior VP, Geology and Exploration:
 |
Act as a technical resource for feasibility studies, operations or developing mines and exploration projects. |
 |
Provide assistance to complete technical reports on development projects and mine expansions. |
Major Responsibilities and Essential Duties
 |
Provide assistance in selection of exploration projects and supervision of exploration work. |
 |
Provide assistance in the preparation of N.I. 43-101 technical reports (i.e., collect information and write the background information portions of technical reports). |
 |
Travel to operations and projects to assist with the implementation of exploration projects and resource estimations. |
 |
Keep up to date exploration results on each operating mine and project on file in the Vancouver office. |
 |
Provide assistance with project evaluations. This may include the ability to run preliminary economic pit shells using mining software. |
 |
From time to time provide assistance to a mine or project for an extended period to help plan and/or execute larger exploration programs. |
 |
Work with the mine engineering department for resource estimations and budget preparations, etc. |

Minera Corner Bay, S.A. de C.V. es una empresa subsidiaria de Pan American Silver Corp., la mayor productora de plata en el mundo. En 2005, Pan American Silver produjo 12.5 millones de onzas de plata provenientes de sus 6 minas ubicadas en Bolivia, México y Perú. Minera Corner Bay ha terminado la construcción de Alamo Dorado, proyecto que se convertirá en una mina a tajo abierto, ubicada 320 km al sur de Hermosillo en el Estado de Sonora, México, cerca a la ciudad de Alamos. Alamo Dorado producirá alrededor de 5 millones de onzas de plata al año, generando ventas anuales de aproximadamente US$25-40 millones.
Alamo Dorado is one of Pan American’s seven operating silver mines worldwide, and one of two in Mexico. Alamo Dorado has just completed construction, and will produce close to 5 million ounces of silver per year with about 200 employees. The Alamo Dorado property is located approximately 50 km from Alamos in the Sonora State of Mexico.
