Pan American Silver is looking for a Manager, ESG Reporting and Disclosure at its corporate office in Vancouver. Reporting to the Senior Director, Corporate Affairs and ESG Engagement, the Manager, ESG Reporting and Disclosure will be responsible for leading all of Pan American Silver’s Environment, Social and Governance reporting initiatives. The Manager, ESG Reporting and Disclosure, will work collaboratively with various corporate functions to improve internal reporting processes and shape the Company’s ESG external reporting strategies and approach. This role will require the successful candidate to have experience in project management, be a skilled writer and communicator, with strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail.


Major Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the preparation and publication of Pan American Silver’s annual sustainability report and disclosures in accordance with leading standards and frameworks, including the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) and the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB).
  • Develop the narrative and content of Pan American Silver’s annual sustainability report.
  • Lead the preparation of the materiality assessment to identify priority issues to include in the sustainability report.
  • Coordinate annual data collection and conduct analyses of Pan American Silver’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance.
  • Implement Pan American Silver’s ESG data systems, continually seeking ways to improve the comprehensiveness, quality, and collection of data.
  • Lead the submission of Pan American Silver’s sustainability and ESG disclosures, including the UN Global Compact Communication on Progress Report (CoP) questionnaire and the World Gold Council’s Social and Economic Contributions questionnaire.
  • Collect and coordinate the revision of Pan American Silver’s ESG ratings from external ratings providers (e.g., MSCI, Sustainalytics, ISS, Moody’s), including the submission of the S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment. Develop strategies to improve Pan American Silver’s ESG ratings.
  • Coordinate the preparation of responses to ESG-related investor requests and questionnaires.
  • Work with Communications and Investor Relations teams to coordinate the development of other sustainability-related materials and disclosures, such as presentations, website content, interactive analyst center, and social media posts.
  • Maintain a strong and current knowledge base of sustainability- and ESG-related matters, especially as they pertain to the mining industry.
  • Frequently conduct research, such as ESG gap analysis, peer benchmarking of ESG performance, sustainability trends and best practices, and develop and implement strategies to improve Pan American Silver’s ESG reporting and disclosures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master level degree in sustainability, business administration, environmental science, communications, or related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in sustainability reporting, ESG disclosures or similar roles.
  • Strong analytical skills to manage and analyze large quantities of data for quality and trends, with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to summarize complex concepts and demonstrated experience in reporting writing.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects independently, often with concurrent deadlines.
  • Experience in or knowledge of mining is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of sustainability reporting stands for ESG principles.
  • Practical experience with relevant sustainability reporting frameworks and standards, including GRI, TCFD, SASB, CDP, ISSB.
  • Familiarity with ESG rating agencies, including MSCI, Sustainalytics, ISS, Moody’s, S&P CSA.
  • Experience in developing multi-year planning to drive ESG performance and disclosures improvements.
  • Collaborative and team player, adept at building relationships and credibility.
  • Ability to clearly communicate concepts, make decisions and confidently raise issues and solutions.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Fluency in English; working knowledge of Spanish and/or Portuguese is an asset.
  • International travel is required.
  • Salary range: $100k to $120k per year.
