Pan American Silver currently has an opening for a Senior Business Analyst, IT Business Management to join its corporate office in Vancouver or Toronto.  The Senior Business Analyst will report to the Director, IT Business Management, and will be responsible for maintaining and improving existing IT processes and controls.  The position will be responsible for analyzing the needs of the company and users, and documenting the business requirements for future process improvements or to serve as the basis for systems’ specifications.  This includes processes used for IT Project Management, IT Asset Management, IT Contract Management, IT Procurement and ServiceNow DevOps.  Furthermore, this role will be expected to complete all assigned project deliverables such as developing and documenting business requirements and process flows, developing the UAT plan, test cases and leading the user community through user acceptance testing.


Major Responsibilities

  • Handle the demand intake process.  This includes ensuring that demands, tasks, changes and projects are initiated, screened, approved, documented, implemented and finalized following approved policies and procedures.
  • Support IT PMO processes: updating controls and reports as required and ensuring alignment with Pan American Silver’s IT and operating environment.
  • Review current operational/business processes to ensure alignment with new business needs.  Where applicable, design methods aimed at improving these processes and increasing efficiency and productivity.
  • Communicate ideas for improving company processes in a positive and constructive manner. 
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders of various levels (from tactical to senior management).
  • Present reports, findings, and updates to all audience levels at Pan American Silver.
  • Assist with updating and/or developing training material, developing user guides, and providing training when required.
  • Develop or assist in the development of IT and Business Operational readiness.
  • Provide BA oversight of the content and quality of the project documents and deliverables.
  • Assist the company’s business users and participate in the development and execution of product testing, including creation and management of the use/test cases.
  • Serve as the contract administrator. This includes updating and maintaining contract records in ServiceNow, verifying data accuracy, and ensuring supporting documents are uploaded to ServiceNow.
  • Track contract lifecycle, including contract approvals and terminations.  Communicate with stakeholders accordingly.
  • Identify purchasing needs from approved ServiceNow requests and other sources for the Corporate Offices (Vancouver and Toronto).
  • Request quotes, negotiate with suppliers and lead bidding processes.  This includes coordinating bids, completing vendor evaluation scorecards, and sending bid award and purchase orders to suppliers.
  • Process orders in JD Edwards SCM module following the company’s procurement process.  This includes generating orders and releases, communicating ETA and managing purchasing SLA’s.
  • Track order lifecycle from inception to fulfillment.
  • Lead the ServiceNow DevOps team.  This includes managing the workload by priority and FIFO (First In, First Out) using the ServiceNow Agile Module.
  • Support the budget and forecasting process for IT.
  • Other duties as assigned.                       

Qualifications

  • University degree in Business Administration, International Trading or Information Technology. 
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of business analyst or related experience.
  • Experience with ServiceNow.
  • Experience with transformational projects where changes in processes had to be made, preferably including re-engineering/quality or strategy function responsibilities.
  • Understanding of business process design, licensing agreements, and ITAM principles.
  • Understanding of how to apply ISO, Lean, and/or Six Sigma methodologies or other process improvement methods. 
  • Understanding of Agile and Waterfall Methodology.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively and build effective relationships with partners and stakeholders at all levels in the organization.
  • Effective communication skills including verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational, planning and prioritization skills.
  • Detailed-oriented.
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude and driven to achieve continued customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish. 
  • Ability to work remotely.
  • Ability to travel to different sites in North and South America.

  • PMI Certification
  • Experience with ERP systems such as JDE.
  • Previous experience working with security, operations and infrastructure projects.
  • Understanding of budget planning and forecasting.
  • Fluency in Portuguese.

Salary Range

$80,000-$90,000
