We are looking to hire an Underground Beat Geologist to join our team at the Bell Creek Mine in Porcupine, ON., on a full-time basis. The schedule for this position is days only, 5-5-4, 11 hour shifts.
Please note that this role requires relocation to the Timmins area and is not a camp-based position.
In this role, you will perform geology and grade control activities at the Bell Creek Mine. The successful candidate must have a good knowledge of geology, mining methods, core logging, drill layout procedures and associated safety practices. Must have experience with daily grade control functions that include mapping underground and sampling and providing direction to the Mining Department. You will be required to update underground samples and mapping databases and complete formal written reports and other tasks as requested. You may also assist with advanced underground drill programs.


Qualifications

To qualify for this role, you must have a minimum of 3 years of related experience in gold exploration or gold mine environment.
The following will be critical to successfully performing this role:
• University degree in Geoscience with current membership in the APGO – Professional Geologist (PGeo)
• 3 years’ experience in gold exploration or gold mine environment
• Experience with daily grade control functions
• Knowledge of drill layout procedures and underground safety practices
• Knowledge of 3D modeling software Datamine, Deswik, Deswik Mapper, and Leapfrog will be considered an asset
• Be committed to safety
• Applicants must be eligible to work in Canada.
