Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience repairing air operated equipment and raise climbing equipment

Construction Miners

Qualifications

  • Must be able to operate a jackleg and stopper
  • Experience with concrete work, installation of timbers and specialized ground support, forming, vent doors, walls, refuge stations, and welding would be considered an asset
  • Basic UG Hard Rock Common Core

Underground Heavy Equipment Mechanic Apprentice

Qualifications

  • Completed theoretical/in school Heavy Duty Equipment Technician Levels 1-3
  • Basic UG Hard Rock Common Core is NOT required
  • Previous underground experience is NOT required

Development Miners

Qualifications

  • Five to 10 years’ related mining experience
  • Proven work experience in the safe operation of a Jumbo along with Specialty Common Core Modules
  • Basic UG Hard Rock Common Core

Raise Miner

Qualifications

  • Minimum two years of raise mining experience
  • Complete Basic Underground Hard Rock Miner Common Core
  • Specialty Module U0064 – Perform Mechanized Raising

Long Hole Loaders & Drillers

Qualifications

  • Previous underground experience is required
  • Previous experience in all aspects of long hole drilling would be considered an asset
  • Basic UG Hard Rock Common Core is required

Haul Truck Operators

Qualifications

  • Specialty modules U0068 Haulage Trackless and U0020 Operate Remote Scoop are required
  • Experience operating 42 ton and 50 ton Atlas Copco trucks would be considered an asset
  • Must have previous underground experience
  • Basic UG Hard Rock Common Core

Entry Level – Rockbreaker and Service Person

Qualifications

  • Previous underground experience is NOT required
  • Basic UG Hard Rock Common Core is NOT required

Remote Scoop Operators

Qualifications

  • Specialty modules U0068 Haulage Trackless and U0020 Operate Remote Scoop are required
  • Must have previous underground experience
  • Basic UG Hard Rock Common Core

Lake Shore Gold is located in Timmins, Ontario, a vibrant community of 45,000 residents that is a central hub for Northeastern Ontario. Lake Shore Gold operates two mines in Timmins: Timmins West Mine and Bell Creek Mine. Timmins, Ontario is one of the world’s most prolific gold camps and mineralization at both mines is associated with the Porcupine-Destor fault system within the Abitibi greenstone belt.
