Pan American currently has an opening for a Director, Financial Systems to join its corporate office located in Vancouver, British Columbia. Reporting to the SVP, Finance and IT, the Director, Financial Systems will be responsible for leading the global financial system instances by collaborating with IT and with other functional areas. The position will be responsible for ERP management, recommendation of potentially new modules to implement, general ledger and business process maintenance, controls and segregation of duty, and overall strategic planning for PAAS’s ERP systems.
•Manage business requests and collaborate with IT to ensure on-time execution of business needs.
•Leading global process improvements for ERPs and other systems. Working collaboratively with Procurement, Tax, Enterprise Asset Management and Finance to ensure all processes are functioning.
•Propose automation tools and incremental improvements to system evolution, such as tools for intercompany functions, interfaces with travel software, asset and equipment maintenance, procurement and invoicing, treasury, and tax applications.
•Overseeing ERP controls, processes, procedures (including following accounting policies) and access security/segregation of duties matters, etc.
•Updating and implementing new global finance training for systems related matters and oversight over all process documentation.
•Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data in the systems, including validation of integrity between general ledger and subledgers and subsystems.
•Integration of new subsidiaries/affiliates into financial systems as required.
•Aid in achieving a balance between decentralized operation of the system, but global compliance.
•Work with employees at multiple levels in the organization including accountants, asset and equipment maintenance, procurement, tax, treasury, auditors (internal / external) and vendors as required.
•Oversee projects including project status, budgets and timelines and ensure project goals are met within established parameters.
•Managing a global team of Business Process Owners and Business Key Users and providing leadership in their development
•Vendor/consultant management
•This position requires a minimum education of a university degree in Business or Finance and Accounting, with a professional Accounting Designation as an asset.
•Experience dealing with Information Technology, specifically good knowledge of Oracle JD Edwards and Oracle EBS
•This position requires a minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in an accounting and/or financial industry with experience in financial processing, projects, and systems.
•Experiencing in overseeing projects, while managing tight deadlines.
•Vendor management experience.
•PPM (Professional Project Management) would be an asset.
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make improvements to processes.
•Excellent interpersonal skills and experience in interacting and collaborating with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
•Strong ability to prioritize competing tasks.
•Self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•Detail oriented with an ability to see the big picture.
•Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese, an asset.
•Ability to travel to operations in North or South America.
•$150,000 – $170,000
